In 1895, Joseph Mel Bog bought a "horseless carriage"
but he couldn't go anywhere because his farm road was too muddy.
So he challenged his neighbors to a contest to see who could get the furthest through the mud.
It was so much fun, they started making their own mud-and a sport was born. It's sloppy,
noisy and hard to resist. Any day now, we expect to see a blockbuster action movie about
this exciting sport.
